Greek Salad- Known in Greece as village or country salad, this dish consists of tomato, onion and cucumber with peppers. It is garnished with olives and feta cheese then dressed with olive oil and oregano.

Saganaki- Fried cheese which is usually served plain but can include other ingredients such as prawn or shrimp.

Dolmades- Grapevine leaves that are stuffed with meat or rice and vegetables.

Spanakopita- Filo pastry filled with spinach.

Tzatziki- A dip made of yoghurt with cucumber and garlic puree.

Taramosalata- Fish roe mixed with boiled potatoes or moistened breadcrumbs

Kleftiko- Lamb that has been marinated in garlic and lemon juice then slow baked on the bone.

Stifado- Beef and onion stew with red wine and cinnamon.

Tyropita- Cheese wrapped in filo pastry.

Baklava- Filo pastry layers with nuts, sugar, syrup and cloves.

Galaktoboureko- Custard between layers of filo
